Tomahawk has announced via the band's Facebook page that their three studio albums "Tomahawk, "Mit Gas", and "Anonymous" will see a vinyl release for the first time on Record Store Day 2012. The release will also have space to insert the soon to be released 4th Tomahawk record. Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3) recently posted an an update on his official website stating that he has joined the group and will be involved with the album.

Nice to have a News thread. Its funny that people are only now catching on that Trever is in the group when he was credited as a band member on their new Facebook page since November at least.
This release is a dream come true for me. I pretty much don't care what it costs. I'm buying the shit out of it. |

Can't wait for pics of the final product. I wanna see if they're gonna do up the full gold foil on Mit Gas and embossing on Anonymous. Hoping for gatefolds and black virgin vinyl as well.

Haha! Word up!
Technically my thread was started in September 2011 but there was already a similar thread that I missed from April 2010. I've been obsessing over the idea of this release for a few years now on and off and once their new album was announced as in the works I thought it would be the perfect time to put out a set like this. I'm still a bit shocked that it ended up happening but totally stoked out of my mind. :) |

Also from their recently updated biography on facebook:
"Tomahawk is an experimental alternative metal/alternative rock supergroup from the United States. They formed in 2000 when Fantômas, ex-Mr. Bungle and Faith No More singer/keyboardist Mike Patton and ex-The Jesus Lizard guitar player Duane Denison started swapping tapes with the intention of collaborating. Duane Denison then recruited ex-Helmet drummer John Stanier (currently playing with Battles), while Mike Patton brought Melvins/Cows bass player Kevin Rutmanis into the fold. Three phenominal recordings came from this formation. Kevin left the band in 2007, taking his place is Trevor Dunn, ex-Mr. Bungle, Fantomas player. New record and tour brewing for summer 2012." I'm so over the moon about this band right now. An amazing time to be a Tomahawk fan! Seeing the shit out of them on this tour. |

This is the only place I've seen it online other than eBay at the moment:
http://www.jr.com/promotion/listContent.jsp?promoName=RecordStoreDay Never ordered from that site before, not sure how legit it is or how likely to actually have that stuff in stock. |

I had an order with JR.com that went through and I have received it. I placed a second order about a week later because they had it on sale and that one is yet to ship. So take that as you will.
