Turns out this will be single LP. Kind of sucks since it would sound much better on 2XLP but I have hope that it will still be good.

If the record is cut by someone who really knows what they are doing it should still sound good. I played the CD the other day and couldn't stand to listen to it on my system, it has that awful thin blaring CD sound, a vinyl release is definitely warranted.

the hot topic one should be up on their website soon, if not already..also, there are a ton on ebay and I THINK interpunk..and most local record stores did have it on RSD, so check w/ them as well...I paid 20 even for mine. CORRECTION (thanks to everyone else who pays better attention than me ;) ) hot topic one SHOULD be tomorrow, so check the physical stores in lieu of paying shipping if you can, YES I know, you have to GO IN, but still..and interpunk is gone as well..I've also heard rumor there MAY be a merch direct version as well, but dont know for sure. |

someone was saying in the RSD thread that Hot Topic is supposed to get their own color of the record that might pop up tomorrow (the 19th) so keep an eye out on their site or in stores.

the street date for this record is the 19th, not the 16th. so, while some stores that had copies put them out on saturday - it wasnt an official RSD release. youre not in the minority if you werent able to find one.

It really does sound great. A huge step up from the CD. Very pleased with this, minus the lack of insert / lyric sheet (biggest record pet peeve)

I still do. Rockin' it 2 turntables and microphone style these days! I was gonna sell off whichever one I liked least but I couldn't bring myself to lose either. The AT would be perfect but the Numark motor is stronger for cleaning (spinning records at 78RPM and lightly holding the brush over the surface with solution) where the AT makes a bit of clunking noise when I do that and it makes me nervous. The AT also cues less accurately. Using the lever to pull up the tone arm and letting it back down usually puts you a few seconds ahead. Pet peeve. Can't help it. And I don't know if its the cartridge pickup or the motor being noisier than the Numark but during super quiet passages of music, I can hear the motor on the AT going "woowoowoowoowoo" its faint but I definitely hear it. Pet peeve again. But otherwise I love the set up on the AT, especially the flat design and the hinged dust cover which is impossible to have on the Numark. I'm going to try a different cartridge on it to see if it cancels the woo'ing sound but I was hoping I could install the same model of motor that the Numark has into it. Haven't done too much research into it yet though.
Thanks for noticing. I remember we talked about how the dust collects and sticks to the rubbery black section. Oh, and I finally got an expedit for my records and all my stereo equipment rests nicely on the surface. I'm pretty psyched about how cool it looks. :) |

I'm with you on the AT design. I don't think I could live without hinged dust covers too, hahaha.
I actually had an AT LP60 up until Christmas last year. No, I wasn't given another turntable as a present - I slipped on a pillow one night and landed face first into it smashing/pinning it between myself and the wall. It hurt. Not physically, hahahaha. Now I'm using something my GF has that she bought from K-Mart years ago. I'll have to wait till I get home this afternoon to see what the brand name is again but I can't find any information about it on the internet. It's some dodgy piece but fuck it can spin a record! It actually sounds great considering it's just RCA input for the speakers. |

That sounds painful in so many ways lol but your new old one sounds pretty cool. Definitely find out what the brand is. I'm interested to know. Yeah, my AT doesn't come with a ground wire and there is absolutely now hum or buzz.
