Miami, even though they have a weak bench.
New York or Chicago would be wiser choices: in the former, he gets fame and brings basketball back to NYC; in the latter, they have a strong core and already have Boozer. |

So stupid. I cant believe he had an hour special about this shit. He's not wayne gretzgy or michael jordan...he has never won anything or done anything. He is so full of himself it is pathetic.

eh... this was clearly the plan all along. something like that doesnt just suddenly fall into place.
whats funny to me is that, as a suns fan, amare stoudemire comes out looking like a real schmuck signing in new york. he got his money but he wont be getting much else there. i sort of image wade, lebron, and bosh all sitting around going "ah man, amare's calling again..." and then they all have a good laugh about it. im not even sure theres really a point to having a season next year. lets just have the lakers and and the heat play a best of 7 and call it good. |

yea i thought having a "special" on this was ridiculous. im sure the idea of having a televised event wasnt all on him though.

I agree matt. this shit is lame though. now, being from outside of cleveland, all I have to look forward to is the browns finishing 8-8

im impressed that he followed bosh and wade to miami. ESPN is probably fucking pissed that they just wasted an hour on a guy that isnt gonna play in NY, Boston or LA.

Really?? That's one of the most bone headed things ever said. You don't have to be a fan of him, but to say he hasn't done anything is just ignorat. Back to back MVPs, fastest player in history to 25,000 point. Just because he hasn't had a team that can support him like Jordan, Bird, Johnson, or Kobe have in the past doesn't mean his overrated. |

I just read this super bitter letter from the Cavs' owner. It's pretty hilarious.

Give me a break. The Cavs team last season was built to win. He had the supporting cast and he choked. He made a mockery of the NBA with this little show. I'd be completely satisfed seeing him never win a championship. I'd hope my Spurs would be the reason for that, but I'll probably be thanking the Lakers at the end of the season. |

What cast did he have around him? A not in his prime Shaq? A late addition of Jameson, who got hurt and never produced? Or are you talking about the awesome duo of Mo and West who couldn't hit a shot to save their lives? If you would like to compare supporting casts, your Spurs have a much better one, only to be out done by the Lakers. It must suck to be Kobe with the help of Gasol, Bynum, Odom, and Artest. The Cavs/Heat are not my team at all, but I am very excited to see how this whole super team trio plays out. |

What has he done? Okay, he has a few MVP's but no rings. He has all these points but gives up in the playoffs. He isn't even the best player in the NBA. At the end of his career he won't break into the top 20 of all time. He is a very good player but doesn't deserve the hype and for ESPN and every news network to turn into the LEBRON channel. He will not be great until he does what the greats do...they take over a series and put their team on their back and win when have to win and not give up. |

as James said, "This league, you become a superstar individually, but you become a champion as a team, and I understand that"
he hasn't had the support to win a ring. |

Please do tell how? Cause I'm pretty sure in the context of the statement it makes perfect sense. So you're going to sit there and tell me Gasol did nothing for the Lakers this season? Or that the game in the finals when Kobe wasn't hitting Artest didn't step up and hit 3s to keep them in the game and eventually win? Cause if so I'm pretty sure you should flip that around on yourself. |

Haha really? A few MVPs? I guess you consider Kobe to be one of the best in the league, how many MVPs does he have? Yes he has more rings, but thats because he played with Shaq in his prime and always had solid support around him. He didn't win Finals MVPs till the past 2, which were earned. What happened to Kobe when he didn't have a solid team?? They had a worse record than the Clippers, and he went on the radio bitching about how he wanted out of LA. LeBron, with not alot of help, was on the team with the best record in the NBA, and won his 2nd MVP. I'm sorry, i consider that to be impressive, I do agree though that the whole hour special thing was a little over the top, but to say he doesn't deserve the hype just cause he doesn't have a ring yet is silly. I'm excited to see what happens this season, can't wait. |

I'm sorry, but you don't have the best record in the NBA two years in a row, yet still don't have a good enough supporting cast to win a championship. That's complete ludicrous. LeBron had a supporting cast, he didn't have another superstar to lean on. He quit on his team in Boston. He settled for lazy jumpers and refused to drive.
I guarantee you Duncan of 2003 would have won with that supporting cast in Cleveland. Duncan is one of two players to win a championship with his #2 option averaging less than 15 points a game. As for Kobe and his supporting cast, they were about as inconsistent as anybody. Who knew what you were going to get from Odom and Artest night to night. Who knew about Bynum's health. Gasol was usually a guarantee, but not always. The supporting cast issue is merely an excuse for James. He is no longer in the running for best player of all time because he is just becoming Wade's Pippen. |

what probably bothers me most is i like(d) to think that at the level of competition that these guys are playing at, and the "supposed" competitive drive that they have, that they would have rather played to beat each other instead of forming 3 / 5 of an all star team because its the easy thing to do. a different era of sports, i guess.
they can rack the rings up over the next 6 years but ultimately, i don't think lebron lives this move down unless he wins a championship on his own at some point. if kobe couldnt shake the shaq stigma till he won one where it was "his team," there's no way in hell lebron is going to either. |

Chris Bosh has become extremely overrated in all of this.

I think the success of the Heat next season will have just as much to do with whether those guys can play as a team, and who else they can sign. They're not going to win a championship without at least a mediocre bench. And there are plenty of rosters around the NBA that seriously under-perform with the talent they have, so unless they can build an actual team around these guys they won't go far. I'm not a Heat fan, but Wade deserves another chance after the way he's been struggling the last few seasons, so I'm curious to see how it all pans out.

No, not really. Do i think LeBron is one of the best in the league....yes. Do i think he is the best in the league...no. I just believe he is better than what you are making him out to be. |

I could see that for Duncan, 03 was an awesome season for him, but that Spurs team was a wet dream with Robinson, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Jackson, Bowen, and Smith. That roster is so much better than the Cavs had this past season. The Lakers may have been inconsistent, but Kobe had much more talent around him where James didn't. If James had someone that played as well as Gasol all season I think it would have been better, not saying they would have won, just different. I am a bigger fan of Wade anyway. |
