All of the bands that have that "Deathwish" or are similar to bands like Kylesa, Baroness, This Will Destroy You, Russian Circles, Rosetta and the like all seem to get better with every new album which is a really awesome change from the world of old school death metal, thrash and grind where it's usually the case that a band has a good run for 1-3 albums and everything after is garbage.

It's a huge generalisation and there's a million exceptions to the rule either side of the fence but with these types of bands I find more often than not being stoked about their album leaks or new tracks on MySpace and end up pre-ordering based off that. Since I'm only fairly new to this whole world of music (say maybe 2 years) it's just a great change to see new album news being released and not groaning that it's going to be another album of dull white noise (i.e. Most death metal acts out there these days).

Take that for what it's worth. Let the flames rain down.

grossly disregarding most of this thread, I will say a lot of bands have been growing and putting out better albums instead of shittier ones lately, beyond just hardcore/metal.

Corrupted rules. Everything on Deathwish sucks nads.
