If you're in the area, definitely go. I never walk out of that store without an awesome find.
Best place to buy vinyl in Boulder! The owner Andy is one of the friendliest people and is always willing to go the extra mile to find any release you are looking for.
its a cool little basement shop. They have lots of metal and classic rock vinyls. I would reccomend going here if you like The Black Bahlia Murder,Slayer,Municipal Waste,Anthrax.
Vacationed in FL back in August. Staff ruled. Selection ruled. Bought an extra carry on case for the flight back home, I bought so much shit.
Made a trip out there back in September. awesome staff and selection. Fair prices.
My personal favorite Denver shop. I've found tons of rarities here for cheap that sell for a bundle online. Everyone is excited to help you, plus they carry a killer selection of local artists.
They buy records at a fair price and sell them reasonably. Easily my favorite place to buy music in MN.
Wish this place had more shows, especially more hardcore/punk shows. Would be great to get a live scene in lakeland again. Some cool records in-store, but most of the current releases are a bit pricey. Used records are reasonably priced though.
Not my favorite record store in Phoenix. As far as I could tell, the majority of everything is used. A lot of it seemed to be catering more towards anyone looking to add to their 70's/80's rock collection and I noticed a lot of things I felt landed there because other record stores turned them down. They have most of their really great finds on the walls right as you walk in. Personally, I've never really found anything worth buying, but been in the company of others who have found things to satisfy missing holes in their collection. The prices seemed cheap and the one employee I did see there seemed like a kind fellow, but I spend my time digging through vinyl elsewhere.
Revolver is my main stop for used vinyl. I frequent there a lot to check their Hot Used which always has something for everyone. It doesn't hurt to dig through all the rest of their used either, which I don't think all that many people do because there is always one or two things just hidden right in there. There's lot's of good used punk vinyl a lot of the time and a growing metal selection. The great thing about this place is that it is incredibly organized as far as genre goes. There is lots of new vinyl if you want something guaranteed pristine; they keep that pretty well stocked, I always find lots of goodies. If you are a jazz/oldies collector, it's a must-visit. There's a lot of that stuff to go around. They have a good selection of CD's and some DVD's too. The employees are pretty nice, which doesn't hurt either.
Stinkweeds is a record store gem. It's tiny, but it's size in no way hinders their vast selection. The CD selections (especially the used) are awesome. The store is always full of great finds; I've personally always had a lot of luck finding oddities that I haven't really been able to find or order as easily elsewhere, especially with a lot of the vinyl. There is a huge selection of new vinyl, much of it being very independent labels and scarce pressings. Like I said, I've picked up brand new stuff that other record stores have said are out of print for well below the eBay/discogs prices. The used vinyl is pretty hit or miss, but I've picked up some cool things from time to time, always at a reasonable price. They have lots of good books in the back too and their 7" collection isn't too shabby. One thing to check out for certain is the listening posts, which are always loaded with a diverse sampling of new releases, more so than I've found at other record stores. They are a pretty solid source for tickets and information on local shows too. Not to mention the staff is fantastic! They are always really nice and ready with a good recommendation.
Oh wow! well said EMMMMBER! This place is cool. Cooler than you! Billy (the owner) is a great guy, Somewhat diluted on pricing sometimes thought.
Definitely the best record store in the central florida area. Awesome collection of LP's and CD's, super friendly staff. I end up spending about 50 dollars every time I go.
Awesome record shop. You will definitely find what you need here; whether it is a used CD or new LP. Great selection of music DVD's as well. Also, go here to find out about local concerts that are happening. Awesome staff as well.
very cool store. great selections, great prices and smart people.
Tons of crust/thrash 7' to dig through, used bin is small but almost always has a gem. New lps mostly punk-indie-dyi re-issue. Some local comic zines, plenty of patches, t-shirts and local cool shit!
This is the store I go to in the OKC metro when I want to dig deep and find something a bit more unique. The guy who works there and I assume owns the place, is incredibly helpful. Wide selection of all genres. Very good for punk and related genres, probably because there is a popular punk/hardcore venue next door. I have purchased a lot of really old jazz stuff there, for which they seemed to have a good selection. The places is kind of a mess in the sense that there are records all over the place when I've been there, which kind of adds to the charm. Fun to dig through and find some really weird shit. Check it out.
Really cool people. They have a giant old record collection for great prices.
I've only been here once because I was just visiting Ohio but they vinyl selection is absolutely overwhelming! An entire basement level devoted to new and used vinyl! Pricing is pretty standard. Because there is so much inventory it can be very easy to get confused in here. The only problem I had was with parking. There might be other spots available but I had to park at a meter, which expired because I was not anticipating spending so long digging here! Fantastic store! Will definitely visit again if I am in the area.
My favorite record store. Not a huge selection but what they have is guaranteed to be great. I try to visit this place at least twice a month and it's over an hour drive. The owner Travis is super nice and helpful. Will order anything he doesn't have that he can get his hands on. Oftentimes what I am looking for will be in-stock, but I will leave with something I had never heard before entering the store. A recommendations if you tell him what you are interested in. I have yet to be disappointed when taking home a random recommendation from VGR. One thing you cannot beat is the CHEAP CHEAP prices! I have YET to find a record store (online or physical) that sells vinyl this cheap! He sells LPs for less than what a label is asking BEFORE shipping. The used selection is so full of gems you could easily lose a paycheck before you realize it. He cleans all of the used records before selling them, so you know they are in good condition. Overall what it lacks in size, it makes up for with heart, personality, and consistency of terrific records!
They stock a decent amount of new LP's of all genres. Large selection of used vinyl. They will special order and track things down for you. Good record store day stop, they have refreshments!
Best place in America for metal or hardcore records hands down. However their rock section is bulky and uninteresting. If you're into CD's they also have a ridiculously even larger section for metal and hardcore.
Love this shop. My favorite in the Southeast Michigan area. The employees are awesome. They'll go out of their way to find what you need. They also sell tickets to concerts with no fees. It's a little far from where I live but it's worth the drive.
Best punk record store in the states, awesome used selection, awesome local music selection, cool books, shirts, etc, easily my favorite record store
I love this store. Josh, the owner, is a great guy, and I appreciate his desire to bring an independent record store to our area.
love this store. The staff are amazing and they feature a plethora of music- local artists, new releases, and classics.
Come visit me here before I get a real job and have to leave!
